DESCRIPTION:Our food pantry serves 3000-4500 people every month. On this day we will be open to the community to hand out groceries. 1 in 7 people in Texas face hunger. In Texas there are 4\,057\,910 people facing hunger and of them 1\,348\,600 are children. This distribution is important to ensure that those in need have access to the nutrition they need to survive. This can help to reduce poverty and can also help to improve the overall quality of life in the community! \nVolunteers will help us sort and package groceries and/or help take the groceries out to the families vehicles. \nWear closed-toed shoes and dress for the weather!

DESCRIPTION:We launched Terry’s Tables Food Pantry to provide a place of connection\, hope and outreach to Montgomery County citizens. This outreach is a large part of why Compassion United has been able to provide over 230\,000lbs of groceries to over 8\,000 people in need each year! By helping meet people’s physical needs\, we can nurture the emotional and spiritual needs that keep them from experiencing the abundant life God has for them! Our Food Pantry is directed by retired veteran and former Navy Chief Petty Officer\, Paul Collom. He and his daughter\, assistant director\, Morrisa Collom\, provide a hard-working yet fun environment where you will find\, simply put\, people helping people. The Food Pantry is an excellent place for you\, your family\, church or group to jump in and find a place to serve! We would love to have you as part of the team. There is a place for everyone at the table!

DESCRIPTION:Breakfast in the Park is Compassion United’s flagship outreach.  What started with a family and a cooler full of breakfast tacos has become a Saturday morning tradition that unites churches all over Montgomery County — serving meals fit for a king to homeless and poverty-stricken in Conroe. This outreach opportunity is an easy way to jump in and serve our neighbors in need. Each week\, a different church\, business or small group of individuals gets to sponsor\, prepare and serve breakfast alongside one another\, giving you a hands-on experience of what it is like to engage in ministry to those in need.
