SUMMARY:Compassion United Breakfast in the Park
DESCRIPTION:Breakfast in the Park is Compassion United’s flagship outreach.  What started with a family and a cooler full of breakfast tacos has become a Saturday morning tradition that unites churches all over Montgomery County — serving meals fit for a king to homeless and poverty-stricken in Conroe. This outreach opportunity is an easy way to jump in and serve our neighbors in need. Each week\, a different church\, business or small group of individuals gets to sponsor\, prepare and serve breakfast alongside one another\, giving you a hands-on experience of what it is like to engage in ministry to those in need.

DESCRIPTION:This drive-through event\, at Lewis Park in Conroe\, will serve around 350 families groceries! They will receive fresh produce\, meat\, and bread and pastries. This is a very efficient and fun way to distribute food to a larger and different demographic of people than what we normally serve at our food pantry location!

Our church is privileged to be able to partner with Compassion United in feeding the homeless of Conroe this April.  We are very excited to join in this ministry and will be sending out more details soon! For now\, please mark your calendars for April 20th!\n\nInstructions from Compassion United:\nWe serve approx 125 individuals on Saturday mornings\, we ask that your group being their meal cooked and ready to serve to the park no later then 9:15am. \nWhat to Bring:\nYour welcome to bring what ever breakfast items your group would like to serve. We just ask that it’s enough to feed 125 individuals. Some examples are breakfast tacos\, pancakes\, oatmeal\,eggs\, meat\, fruit\, pastries etc. If you want to prepare a traditional breakfast\, we suggest 22 dozen eggs\,22 lbs of bacon\, 22 lbs of sausage\, 22 lbs of potatoes. You can also bring extra goodies pastries\, fruit\, juice\, milk etc. \n\nDevotional:\nYour group will have the opportunity to lead the devotional. We ask that the devotional is something based straight out of the Bible and suggest that you keep the devotional and prayer about 6-12 minutes. We start to lose people interest\, and the food will get cold with no way to reheat it if you speak much longer.\n\nSupplies:\nCompassion United will supply all of the paper products including cups\,plates\, to-go boxes\, utensils\, napkins\, tables\, chairs and the PA system. Your group just needs to provide the beverages and food ready to be served!
